Where - Kimberly-Clark Theater, Fox Cities Performing Arts Center

Performance dates: July 22 through August 1, 2004

Setting: the small town of Gilead, WI. Main roles include: Percy Talbot, just released from prison; Hannah, owner of the grill and a no- nonsense woman; Caleb, Hannah’s nephew; Shelby, Caleb’s wife. Into a town with no future, comes a girl with a past. Percy Talbot elects to relocate to a small town, whose residents seem to have long since grown numb to the commanding countryside that encloses them. This new musical was the recipient of the 2001 Richard Rodgers Production Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. It is based on the 1996 film of the same name by Lee David Zlotoff.
