This "light and frothy" farce by Neil Simon, is nonstop laughter from beginning to end. The story unfolds as four couples arrive at a dinner party celebrating the New York deputy mayor's tenth wedding anniversary. He has shot himself, just a flesh wound, in the upstairs bedroom and his wife and maid are missing. In an attempt to cover-up the deputy's actions, his lawyer creates a deceptive story which, when mixed with rumors, misconceptions and innuendo, leads to crazy confusion which escalates until the surprising ending.
