Artistic and Musical Director - James Hart Performance dates: March 27 through March 30, 2002
Raw, energetic, flamboyant and passionate, Jesus Christ Superstar introduced Broadway to Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice and the "rock opera." The provacative retelling of the events of Christ's last week on earth leading up to his crucifixion (told through the eyes of Judas) infuses one of the world's best-known stories with musical theatre savvy. Continuing the tradition, Jesus Christ Superstar will be staged for the 13th year in a row. The first two years the production was staged at The Capitol Civic Centre in manitowoc and for the past 11 years at The Historic Grand Opera House in Oshkosh. Once again under the Artistic and Musical Direction of James Hart, this production has played to over 35,00 people in several Northeast Wisconsin cities since first being staged by Hart 13 years ago.
Audition info: January 21 and 22 from 6:30 to 9pm at Germaina Stage, 320 Cute St., Menasha. Parts are available for two leading females, eight leading men, several solo choral parts and chorus roles. Parts also exist for four male and 12 female dancers. The production will call for 100 roles.
