Where - Appleton Art Center. 111 W. College Ave, Appleton, 2nd floor Performance date: Thursday, October 17, 2002 Huracan is a 12-year-old boy separated from his family during the forced deportation of Mexican nationals and descendants by the U.S. government during the Great Depression. He develops a friendship with El Negro who sees himself as caretaker of a forest reserve where migrating monarch butterflies spend their winters. Huracan also comes into contact with the glutonous Dona Eleņa and her toadying sons. Part of the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage month hosted by Appleton Art Center.In cooperation with Appleton Art Center in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage month.
