The setting for A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a magical world - one that is all at once Ancient Athens, Renaissance England, and Shakespeare’s rich, mysterious "Faeryland" - inhabited by some of the most popular characters in all of Western Literature. Here we find the earnest yet hopelessly bumbling "community theatre" group -- The Mechanicals-- lead by the carpenter, Peter Quince (Chad Sheveland) and Nick Bottom, The Weaver (Kyle Blades and Marty Duhatschek). Here the four young lovers -- Helena (Kimberly Beth Palmer), Hermia (Shannin Ward), Lysander (Doug LaPoint), and Demetrius (Ryan Duffy) -- are entangled. Their complex and merry chase leads them through a mysterious forest, enchanted by the irrespressible sprite, Puck (Eric Peiper) who has also charmed the Faery Queen, beautiful Titania (Elaine Gajewski) at the request of Oberon, the "King of Shadows" (Matthias Weisensel). These stories unfold against the backdrop of a royal wedding between the heroic Athenian Duke, Theseus (Grayson Gajewski) and his defiant warrior Queen, the Amazon Hippolyta (Ann Nesemann) and center on what is perhaps the most mysterious, magical, comedic and tragical, of all human experiences - Love.
