Concluding UW-Oshkosh's season is Henrik Ibsen's classic feminist play. This powerful piece illustrates the underestimated strengths of Nora, who's husband, Torvald, treats her like a play thing. In contrast, Nora's deep love for her husband forces her to commit forgery to save his life and ultimately leave him, so that both can discover who they really are. At the time in which the play was produced, this would have been considered a tragedy of global proportions. Although its first performance was almost 150 years ago, the plight of women in a male-dominated society to establish their rights seems just as poignant today.
